MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP To Return To Japan In February
November 20, 2006Legendary guitarist Michael Schenker's official web site has been updated with the following message:
"After a six-year absence, Japan again was 'ready to rock!' All shows were sold out and the venues were packed. The air was filled with rock 'n' roll and the crowd roared like the devil himself. Wherever Michael and his band got in action with the audience it became a great success. Michael's playing was sharp and exact during all shows. MSG presented themselves as a great union and the crowd gave applause wherever it was possible.
"On November 17th (second show in Tokyo),Michael suffered from health conditions, so poor, so he had to leave stage. He felt he had to do so because he couldn't give the audience what they prefer: sharp playing right out of Michael's heart. All members of MSG, including Michael, were very sad about this situation, so they promised to come back to Japan in February 2007 (including an extra show in Tokyo for all ticket owners of Nov. 17th) to say 'thank you' to all the understanding fans! So stay tuned. We'll be back soon!!!!!! Also other gigs in Asia have been planned for 2007. MSG knows about the great friendship to these fans!!!! Thank you so much!!!! MSG only make sense, because you believe in us! That makes us strong and proud! Now, MSG is still in Bangkok and the people are giving them a warm reception. So 'let it roll!!!!!!'"
Schenker recently cancelled a MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP U.S. tour due to a disagreement with the group's vocalist, Jari Tiura.
MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP released "Tales of Rock 'n' Roll", a special CD to celebrate the band's 25-year anniversary, on August 1 via Locomotive Records. The CD contains Michael Schenker's signature riffage on new cuts featuring an all-star assembly of singers who have recorded with Schenker over the past quarter-century: Graham Bonnet, Gary Barden, Robin McAuley, Kelly Keeling, Leif Sundin, Chris Logan and Michael's most recent vocalist, Jari Tiura. UFO's Pete Way chips in with bass for this special occasion and RACER X drummer Jeff Martin is behind the kit.
The acclaimed German lead guitarist has recorded 34 studio albums with 10 different bands, including SCORPIONS, UFO, MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP, and the MCAULEY/SCHENKER GROUP. Add to that eight live albums and five compilations and you get a staggering 47 Michael Schenker albums.
